AIDC 2019 Wilding’s Highlights – VR, Pitching Comps, Craft Panels and the Board’s Newest Appointee

AIDC is always a great conference and 2019 was no exception. This year’s event was inspiring, energising and has left Wilding Productions feeling excited about the year ahead.
A few highlights…
Wilding Productions and co-production partner Visitor.Vision were selected to pitch VR Project Canopy: Love Letters To Our Trees as part of the XR: Meet Your Maker initiative.
Kate and fellow producer Pip Campey mentored the academics pitching in the Univeristy of Melbourne/ AIDC Real Smart initiative.
Practical Craft Session How to Save $100k before You Even Start Production invited industry experts Dom Bartolo (21-19), Andrew McGrath (Soundwaves), Dale Cochrane (Raven Air), Belinda Fithie (City Post) and Joyce Steele (HW Wood) to share their collective wisdom with early – mid career practioners. Thank you to the panellists for their incredible generosity.
Putting on her Genepool Productions hat, Kate joined Writer/Director Daniella Ortega and Executive Producer Sonya Pemberton to pitch science/natural history feature doc Carbon: An Unauthorised Biography at the FACTory pitching competition…and finally Kate is the newest AIDC Board appointee. She is thrilled to contribute her time, energy and experience to such a vibrant, integral and internationally recognised conference. Here’s to a bumper 2019!
